Round two complete!

All district council sites now cross-checked for E-Waste, Oil, Paint and Tyre facilities!

There’s now 3309 markers across 16 map categories on RecycleMap šŸ™‚

Round 2 of district councils almost complete

Only 8 more district councils to go before District Council E-Waste, Tyre, Oil and child car seat recycling facilities are on the site! It’s taking a bit of time, but I have also been refining the behind-the-scenes processes, so it’s getting easier to add new locations across categories. The time consuming part is picking through the different websites to make sure I don’t miss any locations!

(If you know of any locations not on the site, please do let me know!)

Over 3000 locations now on RecycleMap!

3041 to be precise, as of 20/04/25. Big milestone!

Still working on E-Waste, Tyres & Oils across district council facilities. Once this is done, E-Waste and phone recycling available via other schemes will be next on the list!

E-Waste now live and other news

The E-waste and electrical items map is now live. I am still populating it, but there is a reasonable amount of markers to make it live. E-Waste pretty much covers anything with a battery or a plug. A sub-category includes old mobile phones. Note that many places have fees for the disposal of E-Waste, but will take phones for free.

In other news, we’re now at 2938 map markers. Very close to 3000 markers across RecycleMap!

Also, Waste Oil recycling and Childrens Car seats are still being worked on in the background. They will be coming soon, once I’ve worked through the majority of council facilities that would take them.

Auckland Community Recycling Centres updated

30 more locations added across various Community Recycling Centres throughout the Auckland area. These include new locations for Polystyrene, Batteries and E-Waste! (E-Waste is currently not live, as I’m populating it in the background along with Oils at the moment!)

New Map Markers added.

Anamata, Devonport, Helensville, Manurewa, Onehunga & Tāmaki Community recycling centres added to maps where required (Cardboard, Batteries, polystyrene, Op Shops, Cans & E-Waste)
